What was the Johnson-Scott-Buckley Relationship?
There were times when the Scott’s became involved in disputes with the Johnson’s which resulted because of abuse Lesa had suffered, which was common knowledge. The Scott’s involvement began just a few months before Lesa was murdered. In the PCCO Supplement 2 you will read about an assault against Lesa as reported by a doctor. Billy was present, and did have involvement in the incident the doctor references in PCCO Supplement 2.
Billy was at the bank parking lot (joins the Carry-out lot) when he witnessed an altercation between Lisa Johnson and Lesa Buckley. During this altercation, Lisa Johnson ran over Lesa Buckley’s foot with her car. Billy Scott blocked Johnson’s car from leaving the scene until Officer Kent Moore arrived. Officer Kent Moore shook Billy’s hand and thanked him for detaining Johnson until he arrived. The officer did not arrest Johnson despite the violent act she had just committed. She also had an open container of alcohol and a minor child in the vehicle at the time of the assault.
The Scott brothers and various members of the Johnson family fought several times during the months leading up to Lesa’s murder, and the threats against Lesa continued. Most of those times ended with the Johnson’s pulling guns and the police being called. Lesa was scared to death of the Johnson’s. Billy and Lesa were friends and some have said there was a bit of attraction between the two. No—Billy Scott had no reason to want to hurt Lesa Buckley after the lengths he had gone to protect her. The Scott’s were very upset by what the Johnson’s had been doing to Lesa, and were trying to get the Johnson’s to leave her alone. **Click to see documents regarding Johnson/Scott/Buckley relationship.
